Cheyenne Respite Programs- Lend a Hand

Cheyenne Respite Programs is a non-profit organization that has been providing a helping hand to families with children with disabilities for over 20 years. Respite was started by parents who needed a hand and were willing to lend a hand by volunteering their time and donating supplies and funding when possible.

Today Cheyenne Respite Programs has grown to include a part time Director, Assistant Director, Summer Recreation Director, and several trained staff. Cheyenne Respite Programs is proud to be a United Way of Laramie County Agency. Cheyenne Respite is also funded by the Community Development Block Grants, and private donations.

Cheyenne Respite is in need of the following items. If you have any of these items that you would like to donate, contact the Executive Director at wyorespite@aol.com. Thank you for your support.

• Compact Discs for Wings for Independence Dances.
• Nutritious Snacks to feed 30 children or a gift card to your favorite grocery store.
• Disposable plates, cups, forks, knives, and spoons.
• First Aid Supplies
• Diapers and Wipes
• Crafts -- markers, crayons, paint, paint brushes, flower pots, construction paper, beads, magnets, clay, or a gift certificate to your favorite craft supply store.
• Storage Cabinets-- Cheyenne Respite Programs shares its facilities with another agency and is in need of a storage cabinet for toys, crafts, and snacks.
• Summer Recreation Program Sponsor-- a sponsor is needed to help provide snacks, activities, and scholarships to children attending the Summer Recreation Program.
• Wings for Independence Dance Sponsor-- a sponsor is needed to help provide snacks, facility fees, and music to consumers attending the Dances.
• Christmas Party Sponsor -- every year Santa Claus visits the children of Cheyenne Respite and each child receives a small gift. Sponsors are needed to provide gifts and help defer the cost of lunch for 30 children.

A Little Bit Goes a Long Way

There is continuing need for financial support from the community as Cheyenne Respite Programs grow and provide services to more families. A small donation provides a lot of respite.
