Criteria for Services

heyenne Respite Programs are open to the families of all people with disabilities in Cheyenne and the surrounding area. In general, this includes individuals with mental retardation, physical disabilities, orthopedically impaired or emotionally disturbed.

Emotional disturbances may include families in transitional crisis. These families must by referred by community agencies or professional mental health providers.

Families may use Cheyenne Respite Programs for a variety of reasons including a family vacation or an evening out, even a family emergency. Respite care in not intended for use by parents so that they may be employed.

Service Providers

Cheyenne Respite Programs employs experienced professionals and caring volunteers who are trained to meet the social needs of individual participants. The providers are certified in CPR and First Aid and are trained in different techniques for behavior modification. Providers are supervised by a staff with several years experience in caring for person with disabilities and their families.
